ROLE:
Allia Health is seeking an experienced, visionary Chief Technology Officer to architect and scale their end‑to‑end technology function—anchored by agentic AI, seamless integrations across pharmacy, telehealth, supplements, and a world‑class patient experience. This is a high‑impact leadership role where you’ll serve as both strategist and player‑coach, directly influencing valuation, growth, and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
Strategic & Technical Leadership
Own the long‑term platform vision, architecture, engineering roadmap, and vendor strategy for a multi‑brand, AI‑driven healthcare ecosystem.
Balance rapid MVP iteration with scalable, secure infrastructure planning to support hyper‑growth and future exits.
AI & Product Execution
Design and deploy agentic AI systems across the patient journey—onboarding, telehealth, treatment, adherence, and compliance—starting with early prototypes and scaling to a unified platform.
Translate product‑market fit and user feedback into elegant, patient‑centric experiences.
Build & Scale
Act as hands‑on architect and coder in the early stage; stand up interim talent as needed, then recruit, mentor, and retain a high‑caliber AI engineering and data team.
Unify integrations across existing brands (Southend Pharmacy, Brello Telehealth, Woven Supplements) and future acquisitions.
Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and maintainable
Regulatory & Security Oversight
Embed compliance and privacy guardrails (HIPAA, SOC 2, telehealth regulations) into every layer of the tech stack.
Champion secure development practices, data governance, and continuous monitoring.
Cross‑Functional Partnership
Partner with Product, Clinical, Growth, and Operations leaders to align technical strategy with go‑to‑market goals and superior patient outcomes.
Present progress, KPIs, and risks to the CEO, Board, and stakeholders; contribute to valuation multiplier strategy and potential M&A.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:

Writing code and building core systems.
Reviewing and providing technical feedback on code and architecture.
60–70%
Hiring & Recruiting: Build and scale the AI and engineering team, identifying top-tier talent aligned with their mission.
Leadership & Management: Set performance targets, ensure timely execution, and inspire the team to work toward a bold, unified vision.
Vision Execution: Conduct market research on emerging technologies and increase the DNA mix of AI across portfolio brands.
Feedback Loop Development: Establish iterative feedback channels with internal leaders and external users to continuously improve product and platform quality.
CANDIDATE:
Ideal candidates combine deep technical expertise with entrepreneurial scrappiness and boardroom‑ready communication skills. You’re comfortable toggling between writing code, shaping strategy, and managing vendors.
Qualifications:
10+ years in technology leadership with multiple 0 → 1 or early‑stage platform buildouts; proven success scaling in regulated industries (healthcare, wellness, fintech).
Demonstrated track record integrating complex API ecosystems, third‑party logistics/fulfillment partners, and data systems from medical, pharmacy, or employer‑benefit sources.
Hands‑on expertise in health data privacy, security, and compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, telemedicine).
Experience shipping AI‑native features—ideally agentic systems, LLM orchestration, or real‑time personalization.
Possesses a foundational data component to drive effective use of AI tools. Requires experience with data warehousing/data lake architectures.
Proficiency with AI tools and programming languages, including AWS Bedrock.
Experience with Healthcare data architectures including HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard, regulations and components.
Well-versed in building and managing RESTful APIs on top of both OLTP and OLAP databases to support data flow.
Deep understanding of LLMs, planning algorithms, RLHF, cognitive architectures (e.g., ACT-R, SOAR, or custom frameworks).
Strong programming skills (Python, JAX, PyTorch, etc.) and familiarity with agent toolkits (LangChain, AutoGPT, CrewAI, etc.).
Capable of leveraging cloud solutions to drive innovation and scalability, with cloud platform expertise across one or more major providers (AWS preferred, Azure and GCP acceptable).
Balance of MVP agility and long‑range architectural thinking; comfortable coding/prototyping when needed.
Operationally savvy with modern DevOps practices; experienced in setting up foundational CI/CD processes to enable fast, efficient, and secure collaboration and development.
Strategic, data‑driven mindset with strong financial and business acumen; familiarity with PE value‑creation levers, KPI tracking, and exit planning.
Collaborative, emotionally intelligent leader able to build and inspire diverse, high‑performing teams in high‑velocity environments.
