Q.ai, a Forbes Company, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Architect / Director to join their team. This full-time position is 100% remote, with the ideal candidate able to work within Eastern Time Zone hours.

The Senior Software Architect is pivotal to taking proof-of-concepts, high-fidelity designs and high-level specifications and translating them into clear, actionable and well-specified requirements for engineers. They will be responsible for understanding both functional and non-functional requirements, as well as any compliance and regulatory requirements necessary for the final design. They will collaborate closely with project managers and the VP of Engineering to ensure the initiatives they are in charge of are delivered swiftly and with high quality.
Leads the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive workplace.
Actively seeks ways to improve business software processes and interactions.
Collaborates with VP of Engineering and Head of Product to gather requirements for upcoming features, systems and applications.
Writes software requirements document (SRD), and submits for review to the VP of Engineering.
Tests the final product to ensure it is completely functional and meets requirements.
Makes recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing best practices.
Evaluate, create and implement control strategies and algorithms.
Provides the development team with architectural blueprints to follow.
Oversee and support the coaching and training of team members to ensure all necessary employees are confident in the use of software applications.
Collaborates with coworkers to brainstorm new software features.
Works with the project manager to set and stick to the timeline.
Presents regular progress reports and setting goals.
10+ years of experience designing and implementing software applications.
Strong experience in FinTech and/or closely related areas.
Experience working on large-scale software projects.
Experience designing solutions for microservices, mobile applications, web applications, event driven systems and RESTful APIs.
Strong collaboration, communication and documentation skills are a must.
Professional experience analyzing code for weaknesses and errors, and overseeing plans to improve them.
Extensive experience in software development and project management.
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
Strong documentation skills inclusive of generating visuals such as diagrams (BPMN & UML preferred).
Highly analytical mindset, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details.
Experience in building, architecting, designing, and implementing multi-cloud solutions.
Ability to deliver results and work cross-functionally.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
The compensation for this role is $175k-$250k, with stock options available.
