Novata is seeking an experienced Environmental, Social, and Governance Metrics Director to join their team. This full-time flexible position is based in New York, NY or Washington, DC.

ROLE
Novata's Methodology Department is looking for an ESG Metrics Director to:
Develop ESG metrics and guidance that enhance Novata’s existing metric library.
Collaborate with the Product, Customer Success, and Sales teams to develop new ESG metrics offerings.
Research and keep abreast of recent ESG developments, this includes standards developments, regulatory changes, and best practices.
Support the Sales and Customer Success teams with specific ESG-related questions posed by their end-users and clients.
Author thought leadership and support internal and external trainings.
The role will require frequent collaboration with the Marketing, Product and Revenue Departments, but will also have the ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for deadlines and deliverables.
You will contribute to Novata's ESG methodology, alongside a growing team of strategists, data scientists, and ESG specialists.
This role also offers a unique chance to work at the forefront of innovation, at the intersection of technology and ESG, while shaping Novata's metrics and product offering.
Responsibilities:
Develop and update general ESG metric definitions and guidance
Identify what metrics should be added to the metric library, manage the process of creating new metrics and developing guidance on how to collect ESG data.
Enhance Novata’s internal how-to-guides standardizing metric and guidance writing.
Update metric definitions and guidance to improve their quality based on evolving best practices and feedback.
Support Clients and Customer Success
Brainstorm with Customer Success and clients on their requirements for ESG monitoring to ensure they choose the correct metrics and frameworks.
Create educational tools for Clients and Customer Success on metric and framework selection.
Enhance Novata’s industry-specific offerings
Identify which industry-specific metrics should be added to the metric library, standardize their definitions, and develop guidance.
Provide guidance for clients and training for Customer Success on what metrics and frameworks to select.
Project management surrounding metrics work
Seek input and collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Product to understand customer pain points and ensure Novata’s metrics offerings are improving over time.
Building out process and project managing metric review, edit, creation, and hand off from Customer Success to the Methodology team and develop solutions relating to customer metrics.
ESG Research and Writing
Manage the department’s efforts to keep abreast of industry initiatives, standards and frameworks, and regulatory developments and ensure Novata’s guidance and offerings is up-to-date.
Author blog posts and white papers published by Novata.
Support internal Novata ESG education program.
CANDIDATE
Qualifications and Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in the ESG field.
Familiarity with ESG standards and reporting frameworks, including GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
A specialization in the Environmental field of ESG is a bonus.

The compensation for this role is $130k-$150k, depending on experience.
