An active family office and new venture studio business is seeking an experienced Chief of Staff to join their team. This full-time in-office position is based in Greenwich, CT and offers some flexibility.
OVERVIEW
Seeking a highly analytical individual who possesses exceptional multitasking capabilities. This versatile individual will be well versed in all aspects of prioritizing and directing workflow as it relates to the day to day operation of the family office and venture studio business.
OUR CLIENT
Since 1992, an active investment family office has focused on nurturing and growing businesses that have a positive impact on society. This family office is launching a new venture studio business with multiple locations across the U.S. whose goal is to recruit, fund and support promising entrepreneurs and seasoned execs to build new startups that disrupt and have impact in their industries.
ROLE
The Chief of Staff will be tasked with managing the team’s goals, priorities, internal and external operational tasks, and special strategic projects as needed. They will have deep interactions with the entire business including firm strategy and leadership, startup investments, capital markets, HR, finance, accounting, legal and compliance, etc.
Responsibilities include working with family office senior team to:
Ensure the executive team is working on top priority items for the company and priorities are on track, while assisting with completion where needed and ensuring an appropriate level of quality and accuracy.
Keep the executive team accountable for commitments, while helping keep direct reports accountable for results.
Contribute to, and run, the company's quarterly strategic and business planning process on behalf of the team and translate the strategy into action by working with the executive team.
Run the core business cadence, monitor key business metrics and flag areas of concern; ensure action plans are developed and effectively implemented.
Manage day-to-day team operations across the organization and identify key opportunities for operational improvements through new methodologies, tools and processes.
Proactively drive forward and project manage strategic priorities, managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. Identify problems & opportunities across the team; develop & implement solutions, pulling together the right team from across the company.
Ensure efforts are coordinated and aligned across the organizations.
Drive operational rigor through clear expectations and accountability by partnering across teams.
Keep the entire organization informed and empowered by establishing, maintaining and improving regular internal communications vehicles.
Serve as a sounding board for the executive team.
CANDIDATE
The role is ideal for an experienced Chief of Staff, COO or Managing Director with strong quantitative analysis and critical thinking skills. This person must be highly organized and detail oriented, with excellent time management skills and an ability to be flexible.
Qualifications and Experience:
Five to ten years of experience in a corporate executive role, family office, venture capital firm and/or extensive start-up work experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and through writing with a wide range of stakeholders.
Elite project management skills.
Successful history of working independently and within various types of teams.
Comfortable working in uncertain and fast-moving environments.
Alignment with family office core values.
The compensation for this role is $200k+ base with equity vesting plan.
