Job Description

Position Overview:

In consultation with and approval from the Board, the CEO is responsible for the planning and realizing the
overall strategic vision and direction of the organization. The CEO reports to and is accountable to the
Company's Board of Directors for the attainment of objectives and delivery of results. The CEO provides
leadership and guidance to the organization's staff and volunteers; leads the development of annual
business plans and quarterly reviews; develops, strengthens and leverages key relationships with the
Company's team, Board members, clientele, partners, funders and other applicable stakeholders.

Core Roles and Responsibilities:

• Creates Vision/Gives Direction:

Reports to the Board of Directors; provides dynamic, innovative and strategic leadership by developing an
overall strategic plan in consultation with and approval from the Board, and directing the planning, delivery
and evaluation of a comprehensive program consistent with the Company's mission statement. Oversees the
effective and efficient day-to-day operating environment by ensuring that appropriate practices, policies and
procedures create the framework for operations and standards of service; leads the organization through
inspiration, the building of consensus, and tough decision making.

• Plans and Delivers Results:

Sets high standards by example, promotes and monitors and through continuous improvement, delivers high
quality results through stretch objectives and driving growth to achieve objectives. Researches and uses
global best practices to ensure the Company remains "Best of Breed." Ensures the availability of financial
resources to support the achievement of the Company's mission, goals and objectives by actively soliciting donations from governments, corporations, foundations and individuals and developing and executing strategies to
expand fundraising methods.

• Company Growth Strategy:

In partnership with the Board develop the plan for global expansion with the following objectives: scalable,
replicable, franchise model based and regionally specific.

• Develop and Manage Key Relationships:

Networks extensively to create and sustain partner alliances. Develops key relationships with industry
stakeholders to achieve strategic and financial goals and to raise the awareness of the Company amongst various
sectors. Represents and sustains a positive image/profile/credibility of the organization. Ability to raise funds
and make asks of those who express a positive interest in the Company’s work by leveraging strategic volunteers
and expanding the involvement of existing donors. Develops strong and collaborative working relationship
with the Board, committees and staff. Acts as public ambassador and advocate for the Company's programs and
mission. Ensures internal and external communications are current and informative, and available across
relevant media, i.e. web sites, electronic newsletters, intranet, promotional materials, awareness and
fundraising campaigns, etc.

• Manages Resources and Risks:

Plans and manages the allocation and efficient management of resources, both staff and volunteers.
Negotiates effectively to obtain resources to achieve outcomes.

• Develops People:

Empowers team members to achieve or exceed organizational goals by delegating sufficient authority,
responsibility/accountability and providing mentorship support. Motivates staff and volunteers towards
achieving quality results and builds competence. Develop a staff and a culture that promotes a customer-focused philosophy, with individual and shared responsibility to serve the corporations, the not-for-profits
and the individual.

• Manages and Develops Self:

Sets challenging goals for self and for the team; models and promotes appropriate social, ethical and
organizational standards in all interactions, actively seeks feedback and engages in critical self reflection;
values the well-being of self and others by managing stress levels and work/life balance.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

Strong record of accomplishment with at least ten years as a results-oriented senior executive of a similar
sized/complexity organization.

Strong financial management, fund development, fundraising and program management skills; knowledge of
budgeting process, financial and regulatory reporting requirements specific to the not-for-profit sector.

Visionary and innovative leader with outstanding judgment, business acumen, strategic agility and integrity;
ability to compose compelling business cases for support of the Company and modify for various audiences.
Strong ability to establish and maintain critical relationships with key stakeholders and potential funders.

Ability to implement and refine processes/systems to keep all Board/staff and senior volunteers completely
informed on critical initiatives; track record for developing staff through formal and informal coaching; ability
to retain key staff and develop successors for critical roles in the organization; ability to clearly define roles/responsibilities and prioritization of workload to achieve optimal performance levels.

Demonstrated ability to prepare, communicate and implement organizational development plans (annual,
quarterly and strategic initiatives); able to identify strategic and tactical activities that have greatest potential
impact, and balance and allocate resources against them.

Product marketing experience; ability to position ideas that inspire/motivate new and established corporate
and individual donors; willing to be frugal and ask for in-kind support from all.

Required Abilities and Attributes:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Consensus builder focused on win/win outcomes with a natural orientation to building consensus among
diverse stakeholders/perspectives/ backgrounds; well developed conflict resolution skills.

Natural ability to recruit, leverage and energize senior—level volunteers to augment staff skills and resources
(e.g., volunteer committees).

Ability to achieve success through others.
