The ideal candidate will have a proven record of strong leadership with high team engagement, a history of leading large initiatives through collaboration, and a passion for architecting with integrity.
Establishes best practices for optimal performance and accountability.
Build and manage several teams of software engineers and developers.
Plans, manages, and delivers software research and development projects.
Collaborates and partners with product and customer satisfaction teams to plan and execute development projects.
Coordinates with Executive Management to develop short and long-range plans and drives execution of project plans to deliverables.
Provides Executive Management with updates and delivers design decisions throughout the development life cycle.
Assists with the effort to leverage emerging technologies and strategies.
Performs software resource planning and oversight.
Reinforces developmental best practices for quality assurance and deployment.
Provides an interactive leadership style that drives delivery, fosters creativity and fosters high performance.
Guides and mentors members of the software team.
Establishes key performance metrics and goals.
Provides cost and budget oversight.
Optimizes software development costs and staffing levels in order to support development.
Stays abreast of new technologies and issues in the software industry, including current technologies, platforms, standards and methodologies.
Participates in the strategic business and product planning process.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of direct management experience overseeing software development teams.
Substantial experience in building high-performance teams and scalable.
Experience managing engineering teams with more than 10 members.
Experience working for a global organization or experience within a startup environment is preferred.
Proven track record of developing and growing software development teams.
Experienced in coaching, leading, and mentoring developers.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong leadership qualities.
Solid experience working in an agile development environment.
Possess excellent communication and reasoning skills.
Have a sense of intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning.
Highly motivated self-starter.
Ability to think critically and independently.
Strong organizational and time management skills, including ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing initiatives.
